Winter Wonderland

Our first significant snow of the season. We had 7.5 inches, but as the temps have climbed over night, I think we have only two or three inches left on the ground. I am waiting for daylight to appear to see the damage in our backyard. I heard a lot of snapping and falling limbs last night. Our power kept going off and on most of the evening. That snow was some heavy stuff. Just about five miles from our house there was a different story. They had three or four more inches of snow than us which led to two semi's jack knifing and blocking the ramps of our two major bypasses. I hear that it created a major traffic tie up. Cars off the roads, stranded motorists, power lines down. I'm just happy that the temps have warmed up and this stuff will be out of here!!! It's pretty to look at....as long as I'm not driving in it. That's Indiana weather for you. You can experience a number of seasons in one day.

What a busy day. I took a load of stuff to my little booth in the nearby town this afternoon. The doll is the newest member of my doll children. Just wanted to sent out a big "thank you" to all of the veterans out there. I pray God's richest blessings and a shield of protection to be upon you all.

Morning Observations

This morning I had to notice all of the green leaves that are still on the trees. Our autumn has come in layers this year. This is round three, I do believe. The leaves are much prettier on the trees than on the ground. When they fall in layers, it seems like we're raking well into December. They make nice mulch for my garden. Another thing I'm enjoying this week is the time change. In my busy life, it's always good to gain an hour. My internal clock still wakes up at the same time, only it's an hour earlier, so I get to squeeze in an extra hour each day. Lots on my "to do list" today, so I'd better get moving. Hope to share my accomplishments of the day later.

Why is it that I find myself trying to work on four projects at once? I spent most of today starting a new doll, but took a break to get some things rounded up to take the the antique store on Friday, which led to packing it up and then vacuuming. It's time for a nice warm Calgon bath and then I think I'll browse some more on Pinterest. Have you ever been there? I love that site!!!!
My Granddad had a favorite saying: "The hurrier I go, the behinder I get." That saying seems to describe my life these days. Time just seems to be speeding forward while leaving me in the dust. I can't believe that we are in the month of November already. I'm noticing that I didn't get to blog a lot in October. My parents have been going through some health issues. When those things occur, life has a way of setting priorities in your daily routine. The last time I posted, I had set up a booth at a local antique mall. Well, I was thrilled to get a list of items that sold last month, and among the items was one of my dolls. So, I've been busy as a bee, working away in my workshop all weekend, creating more dolls. This doll is "Sweet Annie". I'm now working on a book to go along with her. Hoping to get two or three other dolls made this week to take to the store on Friday.
