Garden is Ready to Grow!

Finally I planted our front garden.  Hubby downsized it some this year because the other side usually is so shady that not a lot grows and it usually grows up in weeds.  I am getting ready to gather sticks and make a stick fence around the garden.  A storm came through last evening and blew down the birdhouse.  Now I have to repair it before I put it back up.

Sweet Aroma Fills the Air

Spring has been a little later arriving this year, but the last week temps have warmed up and the nature has transformed into a flowering wonderland.  I think this is my favorite time of the year.  I love it also when the birds return.  Our backyard has been a sanctuary of bright orange Orioles, yellow Finches, hummingbirds and cardinals.  This is a picture of our lilac bush this year.  It seems to have more lilacs than normal.  I love to smell the sweet fragrance of the air.

We Have Mushrooms!

Yummy!  I picked 70 mushrooms from our backyard this year.  This is what we had for supper a few nights ago.  All I do is dip them in milk and roll them in flour and fry them.  Delicious!!!

Getting My Life in Order

Why do I feel the need to take on so many projects at once?  I find myself going in a whirlwind daily.  Taking a long hard look in the mirror last night, I didn't like how tired I looked and the extra weight I've put on over the winter.  It is time to get my life in order.     I am going to prune some things out of my life so I have more time to actually do things that I love and not just out of busy- ness.  I'm also going to change my eating habits and do a detox.  As far as my other project of re-organizing the house, I'm making progress.  I have to share a project that I'm working on for my next All'asta Event.  This is the little red table (before).  Wait until I share what it looks like now.

Day 1 - Getting my Life in Order

Why do I feel so bound up inside?  So locked up?  It is taking a toll on my energy.  I have felt so "sluggish" for months now.  I've been spending way too much time on the internet when I'm home and not enough time doing the things that need done.  Meanwhile things just keep piling up.  Have you ever been in that situation?  Have you ever felt like life was just passing you by?  It seems like all of my goals and dreams have come to a halt.  I've lost desire to even plan.  You see, I used to be on top of it all.  I started my day with my "to do" list and had to have everything in order.  Everything in my house was in order, until a year ago.  I don't know what changed, but all of the sudden, I just got into a slump and have stayed there.  I looked out into our summer room and it looks like I could be featured in an episode of "Hoarders".  Well, maybe not quite that bad, but things have just been piling up out there throughout the winter and it's looking pretty sad right now.  I've always been involved in yardsaling, e-baying and at one time I even had a shop, so I have more than the average joe.  Today I've been giving myself a pep talk, trying to psych myself up to get started.  Fly Lady would be saddened to see the state of my summer room.  I have felt the need to document the challenge before me.  Maybe to hold myself accountable to someone.  So bare with me as I share a journey into getting my life back in order.  Let the fun begin.  First off, I started filling boxes for our Community yard sale next month.  It's time to just let go.  Now to stay on track.  I'm one of those people that multi-tasks and that is something I know that I need to changed.  Because it breaks my focus.  Break time's over.  Time to get back to work.  I'd love to hear your comments.

A Preview of Some of the All'asta Items

Don't you just love to wait on the UPS man when you're expecting a package that you can't wait to receive?  It's always so exciting when that big brown truck pulls up and rings your doorbell.  Yesterday was one of those days.  My order from the All'asta party that I had last week arrived.  These are just a few of the cool items that were in my package.

Aren't the new brown bags that come with each order so cute? And the mystery bag is so much fun to open.  You never know what will be in it.  I'm saving the best pic for last....the One of a Kind Blanket.  I just love it.  It's so original!

If you would like to host an All'asta Party in your future, e-mail me for details.  I'm also building my team, so if this is something you are interested in, please e-mail me for more information.

Looking for Spring.....

My dog and I took a stroll through our back yard this morning hoping to find signs of spring.  The only thing I have to report, we saw three robins and heard lots of birds singing in the trees. That's the only sign of spring that we could find.  Winter doesn't want to let go this year.  Signs of snow along the edges of the field. Frozen fingers from the 20 degree temps cut our walk short.  I am just itching to get started in our garden.  Maybe next week.  I'm hearing rumors of a warm up?  Have a great day!
