Another goal in my springtime preparations checked off. I've been working on repainting the gnomes for many years. They were given to me by my Grandma. They lived in her yard thirty years ago. Then, I thought they were quite ugly, but throughout time they grew on me. Several years ago she moved into an apartment and I inherited the gnomes. Since then, I have been working on repainting all of them. I can't wait to get them arranged outside!

Gearing up for Gardening
A Gazillion Blackbirds.....
We've had some very nice days this last week. I am so ready for springtime!
The birds seem to know that spring has sprung. I spotted a bluebird in our back field several days ago. Today, when I opened the door, the birds seemed to be drowning the airwaves. I grabbed my camera and went to check out just where the birds were coming from. For a moment, I felt like I was in the movie "The Birds".

It's That Time Once Again!
I am doing everything I can think of to try to bring on springtime! It has been a long February (and it's only half over!) I planted heirloom tomatoes, cabbage and pepper plants. I can't wait to see green once again! Last year was the first year I've planted my tomatoes from seeds. Not knowing what I was doing, I planted way too many. Long story short, I gave away a ton of plants. I was very disappointed in the harvest. Our tomatoes just didn't produce like they normally have in the past. I think everyone around our area had problems with their tomato crop last year. We had an unusually cool summer. Hopefully this summer will be much better!
